If the tank is placed under a floor, or against a load-bearing wall, or creates a potential risk to the integrity of other structures the steps for tank removal are followed to the point of removing the tank body and piping. When opened the tank body is filled to its capacity with an inert material (concrete, sand gravel) to render it non-hazardous.
